Basement Slabs
Basement slabs are typically poured in conjunction with grade beams and thickened slabs. The bottom of the footing should be at least one foot below the natural gradeline and supported on a solid, compacted, and well-drained soil.
Concrete Walls
Many commercial buildings employ concrete walls and structural details, but using concrete walls in residential structures is also a growing trend. Concrete is one of the most structurally sound building materials. Building a structure with concrete provides several benefits such as a longer lifespan on the building, more durable exterior, less maintenance, and can protect your business or your family in bad weather conditions. Concrete walls can also create structures that are highly energy efficient by reducing cooling costs. Finally, concrete is also an excellent insulator and helps keep out bugs, pests, and outside air from entering the premises. Concrete walls are constructed by building a form into which concrete is poured. After the concrete hardens, the forms are removed and you are left with standing concrete walls.
